Blarg!
Another great (and free!) pattern over on Ravelry. That place is amazing, I love searching through all the new patterns put up every day. Anyway, check out this latest one I found!
Recognize it? It's an elven leaf brooch! It's so pretty too that you could wear it and not look like a freak (who knew that wearing a hobbit cloak in public was a weird thing to do?) but the other nerds hiding in the crowd would totally understand what it is. Very cool.

I hope you guys know how to knit...
...because you are going to want to knit this. This was created by a wonderful knitter I found over on Ravelry named Kelly. Check out this adorable little Serenity she made!

It's so cute! It could use some glow in the dark yarn on the little engine parts, but whatever. Oh yeah, did I mention that this pattern is TOTALLY FREE? It is so awesome that she would not only take the time to write up a pattern like this (because writing patterns are a total pain in the butt) but that she would put it up for the whole world to use. So go forth and knit! Stay tuned!

Sure, why not?
Why not have the original cast of Star Trek knitted up as meerkats?
Well, there's just no reason now, is there? So here you go! But maybe the original cast isn't your thing. It's too corny. Well, we've got that covered!
Here's The Next Generation. I like the Reading Rainbow guy's eye thingy. Alright, alright. You don't like the Next Generation either?
Have some Janeway. (She's a little hard to recognize without that awful hair).
Or maybe Chakotay!
Yeah. I have no idea why they are meerkats, but I think they are pretty cute. Plus they are knitted, and I have to give props to anyone crazy enough to knit something like this. My brain is almost ready to explode just thinking about how difficult this would be to do. Anyway, if you want to pick one of these little buggers up, just go to Niftyknits etsy site! She seems to be ready and willing to make custom orders, too, so feel free to ask for a Tom Paris meerket but as a lizard from that one episode where he turned into a lizard and had lizard babies with Captain Janeway. Yeah, that's right.

You can't take the Firefly crafts from me!
For some reason I've been seeing a lot of (new! well, to me at least) Firefly related crafts out there. I thought I would share!
First off, some awesome crocheted and knitted versions of Serenity. I do like the crochet one better, I think (the first one) because I like the colors on it and some of the pieces are a little more detailed (I want the removable shuttles though!), but the knit one has a light up butt!
I think if I am ever bored (well, if I'm bored and I don't have mountains of work I'm supposed to be doing--okay, probably even if I do) I want to make one of these bad boys (or is that girl? Are spaceships girls too, like boats? Why are there so many parenthesis in this post?) but it does look rather intimidating. I'll keep an eye out to see if the pattern ever pops up.
And then a cute cross stitch that was also found on craftster:
I like the ship, it's instantly recognizable. It's kind of weird that the quote is actually a small dialogue, but I think that the two colors of thread help that a little bit.
And now my favorite, even if it is a bit simple, I think the hearts are a great touch:
Ha ha! Jayne is so gross.
Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this stuff! Keep an eye out here for new stuff, and don't forget to keep an eye on crazy penguin Drake's adventures! Since I can't seem to get away from crafting stuff I'm going to be posting some cool tutorials over there, so stay tuned!
