Alright, now keep in mind this is an "in progress" shot. In progress meaning the first 1/8th of the project is only half done. So I still have a lot to do--like way more to do on it than I'll ever probably get done in this lifetime. Anyway, here it is!
Yay! What do you guys think? I'm really super excited about it. You can see the starting of some color up at the top--I'm still not too good at satin stitch, but I think I'll get better the more I work on it. Now I just have to work out the long and short stitch to fill in the big areas (like Amaterasu) and I'll be set! This thing is going to be one brightly colored crazy pieces when it's done. Check out the picture I'm basing it on:
I know it's a little fuzzy (open it in a separate window to see it clearly), but isn't it awesome? It has almost every character from Okami. Oh, and see the tiny little circle with Amaterasu in it in the middle? Yeah, that's what took me, like, a month to do. Well, it took me that long to do the outline, it will probably take me four times that long to fill in the color. But can you imagine how amazing it's going to look when it's done? Anyway, I'm radiating out from the middle, so there are a couple of other figures drawn (by my boyfriend, of course, since I can't draw at all, or apparently even trace) in pencil around the outside, and I can't wait to start on them!
I really want to know what you guys think about this. I was worried about posting in progress shots, but I'm super excited about it! Let me know what you think, and stay tuned for more!

Wow, what an amazing (and ambitious) project! Keep posting the in-progress pics - it'll be so cool to see how you're doing.
Amazing, it's one of the most beautiful projects I've seen, if I where less lazy I would be forced to make one as well. Think it's going to be awesome.
I think you may have found the eternal embroidery piece. :) What you've done so far looks wonderful - it will be beautiful.
Wow, absolutely stunning! Okami is fabulous, what a cool project. Good luck! I'm sure by the end you'll be a pro embroiderer.
A-freaking-mazing!!! This thing is going to rock & I ask that you post more progress pics as you go along. I refuse to wait until it's done.
Wow!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
Are you working of a pattern or just from the original??
Thanks guys! I will definitely keep posting progress pictures--if nothing else it motivates me to actually work on it. And Jelibe, I'm just working off the original. We put the fabric up against the computer screen and just trace the outlines. It's a little difficult, but so far it's been going okay. Thanks again guys!
Beautiful! That is a crazy-ambitious project. It's going to look amazing when it's done. Thank you for posting your progress; I hope you post more.
