I love the little Stormtrooper face in the back of this shoe! Although I'm sure you can get roughly the same effect with some sharpies...
And slave Leia shoes. I'm not sure if these are intended for men or women (I hope for women, although the shape of the shoe is pretty hideous), but they're shiny!
Some of the shoes are subtle--I like the light picture of the Death Star on the side, although I have a feeling that from the front they look ridiculous.

But then some of the shoes are not so subtle. Take this shiny shoe with pictures glued on the sides.

Anyway I'm kind of torn about these. On the one hand, they are Star Wars merchandise, and I'm pretty sure I've been programmed to love any Star Wars stuff ever made. On the other hand they are shoes, and I hate shoes almost as much as I hate shoe shopping. Hmm. Conundrum! Would any of you actually wear these?

Yeah. I have no idea why they are meerkats, but I think they are pretty cute. Plus they are knitted, and I have to give props to anyone crazy enough to knit something like this. My brain is almost ready to explode just thinking about how difficult this would be to do. Anyway, if you want to pick one of these little buggers up, just go to Niftyknits etsy site! She seems to be ready and willing to make custom orders, too, so feel free to ask for a Tom Paris meerket but as a lizard from that one episode where he turned into a lizard and had lizard babies with Captain Janeway. Yeah, that's right.

The Most Awesome Book

Alright everyone, are you ready for some awesomeness? Because I found the most awesome book today. No, it's not about Dinosaurs and the Bible, but it might be even better. It's about lasers and robots and stuff. Take a look.
Okay now, I know this looks like a ridiculous book. But it is absolutely, positively the real deal. The book seriously has electrical diagrams and instructions on how to make your very own laser pistols and ray guns and stuff. Here's the actual names of some of the chapters:

Isn't that crazy? Just when you thought you were safe from evil crazy scientists making space laser guns BAM! Here are some plans, right here in the open. Everything an evil scientist needs to begin taking over the world, bwa haha hahah! Okay, just kidding. I have no idea what this book is saying, it's all gibberish to me.

Alright, we know that Minas Tirith has been recreated as food many times. First the gumdrop city, and then as a cake. Old news. But now the White City has been recreated with matchsticks! That's right. I don't know why this particular person chose matchsticks, but he is doing a really awesome job. It's not complete yet, as you can probably tell from the picture, and it looks like it's estimated finish date is sometime in 2010. Seeing as how it was started in 2007, this thing is a major project. I can't imagine having it in my living room for that long.
Overall shot--the top part isn't quite finished yet.

The detail on this thing is just incredible! You can check out the website for more detail shots, though there isn't much information on how it was constructed other than carefully and tediously. I wonder if he is going to buy little Lord of the Rings people to populate it with. Probably not. Anyway, stay tuned!
