A Pirate's Life for Me

Well, I've been working really hard on a new pattern! Introducing my new pirate pattern!

This pattern is 34 pages (yikes!) because I had to make pictures for everything. There are about 10 pictures on just how to make the gun. It's actually pretty complicated, but for those of you out there who want their own pirate I'm sure it's something you can deal with. Plus I like pictures, I think it makes it way easier to follow than written instructions.

Like my other patterns, it has a regular pattern that you use as a guideline for the fabric, and it also has a paper pattern for those people who crochet but don't sew. It's just felt sewing though, it's pretty easy to work with, so I suggest that anyone who is apprehensive about sewing try it out with felt because it's very nice to work with.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, the pirate pattern is up for sale at my etsy shop! I hope you guys like, it took a lot of time to write and is kind of like a small book. Stay tuned for more patterns coming up soon! I think my next pattern might be a space princess/space rebel pattern, but I'm not sure yet. Thanks for looking!

Excuses, excuses

Hey everyone! Sorry there hasn't been a post in a while. Wanna know why? This is what we had to do this weekend (well, we actually still have to do more, this is what actually got done).
So once everyone is assembled (that's 6 Links we have to finish!) hopefully we can get started on some new characters--I soooo want to make Leonidas, so hopefully we'll get working on him soon.

In other news, the boyfriend (the ever talented sculpey maker) entered the Craftster 350 contest, which is helping to spread the world about global warming. Since he is a t-shirt designer he entered the t-shirt contest, and here is his design:
Isn't it pretty? If you like it, go vote for it! You don't need to register to vote, so if you like it help spread the love! Stay tuned, more updates coming soon.

News

Hello everyone! It's been kind of quiet around here lately, but we've been working really hard over here. Although the quietness may have had something to do with the Indiana Jones marathon day yesterday on USA (why did they show them in reverse order?) even though we JUST WATCHED THEM last week, but I swear we really were working.

We've been working on a couple of custom orders, as well as some requests for older stuff, and no one wants to see that here. I do have a present for you though--some teaser pics! These are WAY harder than the last one.

HA! I bet you can't guess this time! They're not even finished yet! (Don't tell the boy, he would probably be mad that I posted some of his unfinished work). And Captain Mal is ready! But I'm not sure I'm going to post him until the whole crew is done. You guys won't be mad, right? It is going to be such an awesome picture of them all together.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great mother's day. The weather down here turned really nice today (it was 90 yesterday--ick!) and stay tuned for more news!

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot! I wanted to say that later this week (hopefully) I am going to be introducing a new line into my etsy store called "Geeky Green Home Supplies". And no, I didn't just make that up off the top of my head. :::sweats:::: Anyway, I wanted to introduce some stuff that every home needs to have, with the added benefit of being green (as in save the world green, not Kermit green...although...). Oh yeah, and of course they are going to be totally geeky. Look out for them!

Darth Vader

Alright everyone, time to unleash Vader! The Imperial March is now playing in your head.
He's pretty sculpey intensive, not so much for me to do this time. The boy did most of the work: helmet, voice box, belt details, and lightsaber. Pretty crazy, huh? Okay, and get this:
His helmet comes off! And his lightsaber can "turn off" too. The lighsaber beam is a little skewer, painted red, and it has a little hole in the lighsaber that it sits in. Isn't that so cool? Those pink things on his head are supposed to be scars, but I'm not sure they turned out exactly how I wanted them. They do look better in person though, this pic is kind of washed out.
That detail is insane. It's all painted sculpey, of course, but everything is carved, too. And they all have metal loops on the back of them, that's how they are attached to the belt. The lightsaber clips on, too, by a little earring hook.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think! I think I will have my Ackbar and Yoda pattern up for sale tomorrow, and I am working on a custom order for someone--I will post pics when it is shipped out, but it is going to be insane. Of course, another sculpey intensive project, so I have relatively little to do, but that is going to make it that more impressive. Stay tuned!
