See, the sarlacc is bragging about nabbing Boba Fett (even though he eventually got away). I guess he (she?) is waving around the helmet to show the other sarlacc's how awesome he (she?) is. Are there really other sarlaccs? I'm not even sure. And if there were, do you think they would brag about what they got to eat? I wonder if they make miniature sarlaccs for garbage disposals.
